My Fathers Name

Things have been slow. Haven't got DNA results yet so here's one of my old success stories:

My Father was named Claude Mills Pitts.
A bit of trivia, Mom had told me that Dad was named after the Doctor that delivered him. With a bit of research I found Dr. Claude Benjamin Mills. Dr Claude Mills was married to Ethel Lee Chandler who was a 2nd Cousin to Molly Caldwell. The common Gr-Gr-etc Grandparents would be
Weitt Chandler (1786-1847) and Sarah Bailey (1795-?) .

Dear Pitts Clan,

I've been searching a side of my family that is very difficult to follow, James E. My Chandler that at one time was in Darlington, SC. I believe he had family there, an Uncle or two, but don't know who is real father is. There was a John Chandler that a lot of people try to connect to but, YDNA test says we are not in his line. James Evan Chandler was a little stinker and was in trouble of and on. He was born 1814 and wife Eleanor Norwood b. 1816, grandfather John Norwood of Darlington, SC, father Alexander M. Norwood. I've searched most records in Darlington with no proof of Chandler's parentage. His wife's family I can't 100% connect to her parents as well. I believe because she and James were caught having sex (court Doc naming only James E.). They married and moved to Georgia to have the child in 1833. They were back by 1834. From there Alabama and ended up in Louisiana. If you have any leads to his possible family I would appreciate it. I called Laurens Library recently but need to be there to conduct my research and I live in California.
Sincerely,
Christine Champness
